Bitcoin does not have a Bug Bounty

Bitcoin does not have a bug bounty program. A Bug bounty Program is a way to incentivize people into reporting vulnerabilities they find that need to be fixed by offering what is typically a cash reward ranging in value depending on the severity of the bug. These types of programs are important because it often leads to bugs being reported rather than exploited. Ethereum the second largest crypto currency by Market Cap has a bug bounty which has paid out millions of dollars to people for disclosing these bugs. Ethereum even takes this a step further by having a leaderboard system giving recognition to those who could have saved the network from failure.

A $2 Million dollar bounty was paid to a Cydia iOS Jailbreak Developer who found a bug in Polygon Matic a Layer 2 Scaling solution built on Ethereum.

"Polygon, a blockchain technology company, has paid out $2 million in bug bounty rewards for a ‘double spend’ vulnerability"

Practically everyone offers a Bug Bounty besides Bitcoin. Here is an old BitcoinTalk post about all the places offering bug bounty's at at the time.

in the past we have seen two catastrophic bitcoin bugs which could have destroyed the network and various other bugs which you can about here.

Bitcoin Core the most popular node software does not offer a Bug Bounty but instead advocates for "Responsible Disclosure"
